Well, we are all safely home and trying to settle back in to our daily lives with our families. It is always a challenge to re-enter life here in the US, remembering what we saw, what God allowed us to experience and trying to never go back to the way we were before. I pray that God gives us all the strength to do that.
This morning at church, my emotional walls broke. Tim and Rita from our ABF group have a friend who is embarking into a women’s ministry, which is seeking to have women revive their hearts to Biblical womanhood. She showed a video that pictured a young girl riding a bike through a field. As much as I tried, my walls came down and I could not stop the tears. A week of emotion began to come out. All I could see were my daughter’s faces, and the faces of all the young girls in Guatemala such as Johanna, Paola, Paulina, Jaime and Saundra. Girls who long to have a Biblical picture of a father and husband. These are young women that will sooner than later be choosing who they will marry, have children with and build their lives around. It is not just a Guatemalan issue. It is an issue that all of us as moms and dads need to face head on.
It is going to take me a few days to process all that we saw and did. I spoke to Jeff today, and I challenged him to put his words into a post as well. As soon as we do that, I will post them. So, please check back, as we do want you to know all that God did last week.
Thank you for all of your support and prayers. We truly appreciate your love.
Dios te Bendiga,
